In this chapter, Darci wakes Jack in the middle of the night, showing him a photo of her mother in a really tight spot and informing him that they immediately need to go back to 1999 in order to save her from whatever danger she might be in.

Now Jack has no choice left but to take Darci with him back to the power plant, where he witnesses some odd changes to the environment - such as the installation of an entire new AI infrastructure, designed to prepare our heroes for their journey back to the past. After all the precautions have been taken, Jack and Darci finally take the trip, emerging in the power plant corridors twenty years earlier and preparing themselves for their new mission - which, among other things, requires a reluctant change of fashion for poor Darci...
